"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example to the faithful in speech, in conduct, in charity, in faith, in chastity." (1 Timothy 4:12)

Youth Ministry at St. Louis is based on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) document, Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry. The goals of our ministry to youth are:

         1. Call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

         2. Draw young people into the life, work, and mission of the faith community.

         3. Foster the total personal and spiritual growth of young people.

The Life Teen Model

LIFE TEEN follows the Church's mandate to make Jesus Christ the center of everything we do. The LIFE TEEN program is centered on the Sunday Eucharist. It begins each week with a teen Mass followed immediately by a LIFE Night for high school teens where issues are raised and teachings are covered, but primarily teens are led to a deeper relationship with Christ and challenged to live out the responsibilities of their faith journeys. LIFE TEEN also offers LIFE houses; weekly home-based bible study groups, retreats, campus outreach and mission trips.

Our middle school teens also use the LIFE TEEN resources. Our ministry with 6th-7th grade students offers once a week catechesis and fellowship along with retreats and social outings.

The sacrament of Confirmation is offered beginning in the 8th grade year. This program offers the candidates the opportunities to engage in the LIFE TEEN Mass, LIFE houses for bible study and prayer, catechesis involving sponsors and parents and 5 group gatherings for full-day catechesis on the 4 pillars of the Church. During the preparation for the sacrament, candidates will also retreat and have opportunities for service and outreach through projects and mission trips.

Our ministry to youth at St. Louis also offers crisis and at-risk outreach, training for teens in leadership skills and peer ministry, involvement in established outreach ministries within our faith community along with representation on parish vision committee's both at the parish level and at the youth ministry level.

Scan through the different links and see what you think. We offer tons of different experiences to awaken and challenge you spiritually, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Youth Ministry at St. Louis strives to meet you where you are at– challenge you to step out farther – and celebrates your very presence in our community! We are excited to meet you and to welcome you into the teen family here in our parish.
