HISTORY DAY RESULTS We have three entries at the State competition on May 3. We did very well on Saturday, but I know I have disappointed kids. It is hard when you work so hard, and have to stop, but that doesn’t change how well we did as a school. I am so proud of everyone! The three entries for state are: Robert Perez in the Individual Performance on Thomas Jefferson, McKenna Meyer & Mikayla Welty in the Group Exhibit on the Salem Witch Trials, and Amanda White, Anna Mickel and Tia Bella Cooper in the Group Documentary on George Bent. HOWEVER, we had two more exhibits make it to the finals: Gabby Wilson and Tess Cartin, Morgan Welty and Christina Weekley. That is a great showing for the school, and unfortunately, we were our own competition again. It shows that here at the school we have some of the best history day projects around. Competing at State is a wonderful opportunity. I highly suggest that kids who are interested in competing visit the competition in May to see the competition. If nothing else, the exhibits, performances and documentaries are amazing to see and hear. I love it because intellect is admired and not popularity or physical gifts. Many more kids are allowed to pursue what gifts God gave to them in this wonderful celebration of our kids. Mrs. Farus |
